Operating Room at Texas Children’s Hospital
What is your favorite part of travel nursing?
Meeting new people and exploring different places. I also find it interesting how each hospital works and functions.
What is a place on your bucket list for a travel nursing job?
California or anywhere in the pacific northwest!
Tell us about your career history – how did you become a travel nurse?
I was unhappy where I was working and a friend of mine suggested I look into traveling. I then researched a few options and jumped into it.
Have you found any sort of community while travel nursing?
I have found a community at my current assignment. I’ve been fortunate enough to have such helpful coworkers.
What are some of your favorite hobbies and activities outside of work?
I love going on hikes with my dog! I also enjoy hitting up fun brunch spots and local hangouts.
What do you always pack?
I always make sure to pack my laptop!
Any advice for future travelers?
Take the leap of faith, it is totally worth it! Ask questions and work closely with your recruiter and specialist.
What are your go-to ways to relieve stress?
I try to stay as active as possible and enjoy working out to relieve stress. I am very big on self-care so getting a facial or massage is always nice!
