New Years Resolutions for Travel Nurses

CategoriesTravel Nursing

We’ve all heard ‘new year, new me’, but how many of us have actually followed through with our new year’s resolutions? As a nurse, we know the shifts are long and the days are emotionally and physically draining. This can make it extremely difficult to stay on track and follow through with your new goals. With travel nurses in mind, we’ve compiled a list of goals that you can try to incorporate into their 2023 plan.

Travel Somewhere New

For some people, traveling to a new destination can mean a lot of time, money, and added stress. One of the luxuries of working as a travel nurse is that you have the ability to travel pretty much anywhere you want for work.

A good goal for 2023 is to start by choosing just one new place you want to explore. If there’s a place you’ve been dying to go, or a part of the country you’ve always wanted to see, let us know! Our team loves to match nurses with their dream locations.

Getting Into Shape

Getting into better shape or exercising regularly, is something that’s usually on most people’s list of new year goals. But as a nurse it’s important to make sure you’re maintaining your own health, in addition to the health of your patients.

Being a nurse is a very stressful job and regular exercise can help you alleviate some of that stress, while also helping you stay in shape. Doing a quick workout class or a yoga circuit is another great way to get away from the stressful work environment and just take some time for yourself. This is a great opportunity to also meet new people and create a nice work/life balance.

Start a Budget

Going into 2023 financially secure is a great way to start the year off right. Whether you’re single or married, curating a budget and doing some financial planning is a great way to make sure all your affairs are in order and then you can spend less time thinking about money stressors. If you’re not sure where to start, there are several free tools out there that will help you create a budget spreadsheet and track your spending. Take a Training Class

Ever wanted to learn a new skill or specialty in the nursing field? Well, 2023 could be your year! As a nurse, you’re constantly learning and broadening your knowledge and skill set, and what better way to kick off the new year, than with some new expertise.

If you have extra time in the mornings, during your lunch break, or even after work if you’re feeling up for it, sign-up for a new training class. It doesn’t have to be anything intensive, but if there is a specialty you’ve always been curious about, why not expand your already vast knowledge?!

The start of a new year is a great time to reflect on all of the great things you’ve accomplished in the past year and think about what you’d like to change and accomplish in the new one. We’re excited to be kicking off a new year with so much great talent and can’t wait to see what 2023 has in store for all the travel nurses out there.
