With Spring less than a month away, it’s time to plan your next placement! The weather will be warming up, and the flowers will be blooming, making it the perfect time to travel. Here are five of our favorite spring locations for Travel Nursing jobs to get you thinking about your next assignment.

Washington D.C.

Washington D.C. is first on our list for the amazing 3,000 cherry blossoms that come to life all over the city. Each year, the city hosts the National Cherry Blossom Festival, attracting visitors from all over the world. Also, the city offers amazing theater performances, baseball games, and outdoor festivals like Project Glow. If you want to escape the city life, Rock Creek Park is a  1,754 acre national park with rich history and 32 miles of hiking paths and trails for you to explore! It’s no wonder springtime is the best season to visit America’s capital.

Portland, Oregon

The rainy northwest city of Portland ushers exquisite wildflowers with azaleas, cherry trees, rhododendrons, and, most importantly, roses. Spring brings outdoor events such as the annual Wooden Shoe Tulip Festival, the Japanese Currents film festival, and Earth Day celebrated near the waterfront. Spend the day hiking the Washington Park, Forest Park, Sauvie Island, or take a drive to the gorge along the Columbia River with over 200 waterfalls or explore Portland’s 70 breweries. You will never run out of exciting things to do in Portland with plenty of spring activities!

New Orleans, Louisiana

Spring is a high season for NOLA. Mardi Gras is winding down, but that doesn’t mean the party’s over. French Quarter Festival, Greek Fest, NOLA Oyster Festival, and Jazz and Heritage Fest are just a few of the events happening in the springtime. Take in the multicultural hub covered with French and Spanish architecture, Cajun and Creole cuisine, and jazz and Afro-Caribbean music. Escape the bustling city and visit the 1,300-acre city park or take a yoga class outside the Besthoff Sculpture Garden at the New Orleans Museum of Art. Visit the Big Easy before the sweat-filled summer commences!

Tucson, Arizona

The spring is a beautiful transitional season before the sweltering dry heat where the mountains of Arizona turn emerald as the snow melts and winter rains subside, and the brittle branches flourish into flowers. Tucson offers a diverse hiking experience, from strolling amongst cacti in the desert to walking through tall trees and waterfalls in alpine areas. Attempt the 10-mile Havasupai hike or visit the lively bar scene in its downtown district.

Charleston, South Carolina

The southern charm of Charleston lights up with jasmines, azaleas, and dogwood trees in the spring. The weather is perfect at 60-70 degrees with low humidity, making it the ideal time to visit the miles and miles of beaches, walk in one of the 120 parks, or enjoy a drink at one of Charleston’s rooftop bars. Outdoor events stretch across this season with the Safe Sounds at Firefly Spring Concert Series, Holy City Farmers Market at Holy City Brewing, North Charleston Arts Fest, and more! There is so much to explore in this charming city during the spring. Find out more here
